The foot valve is a component in the cylinder which allows water into the cylinder and stops the water flowing out. The foot valve (complete) consists of the split pin, washer, spring, O-ring, seat & valve stop (brown).

To remove the foot valve, remove the nuts & bolts. Tap on the side of the foot valve to twist it into an upright position. Remove the foot valve vertically between the holes to prevent damaging the O-ring.
